Any sign capable of distinguishing products or services is called a trademark.
Kinds of Trademarks

Trademark Name: Any sign that identifies an economic activity, a company, or a commercial establishment. A corporation or establishment may have more than one trade name. The trade name of a corporation or establishment may be, among others, the firm’s name, corporate name or other designation registered with a registry of mercantile persons or companies.

Advertising Slogan: A word, phrase or inscription used as complement to a trademark or a trade name.

Collective Trademark: A sign that is used for distinguishing the origin or any other common feature of products or services belonging to different companies which use it under the control of one holder.

Certification Trademark: A sign designed to be applied to products or services whose quality or other features have been certified by the trademark holder.

Labels or Signs: A label or sign identifies the physical space in which the commercial activity is carried out and it may consist of a special arrangement of the furniture, drawings on the walls, etc.

Denomination of Origin: Any geographical indication consisting of the denomination of a specific country, region or place, or a denomination that, without being that of a specific country, region or place, refers to a specific geographical zone. It is used for designating a product coming therefrom, the quality, reputation and other characteristics which describe solely or essentially the geographical environment in which it is produced, including the natural and human factors.

Indication of Provenance: Every name, expression, image or sign which designates or evokes a specific country, region, locality or place.
